Part-time Transportation Administrative Assistant

PAY RANGE: $18 - $20.58/hr***
***range is contingent upon relatable experience, credentialing/certification, education, and use of a second language in your role at least 50% of the time.

As an Office Assistant with the Transportation Department, you will:
- dispatch drivers for the purpose of meeting student/client transportation requirements.
- communicate route changes to drivers and parents as needed and keep our Transportation Coordinator informed.
- participate in a variety of activities such as CHP terminal inspections, meetings, and training.
- maintain current records related to DMV/CHP regulations.
- collect, review, and file daily bus logs.
- respond to inquiries from a variety of sources such as parents, teachers, and other related programs for the purpose of providing information related to bus routes, scheduling, and/or operational issues.
- perform Driver Aide duties, such as securing students in seats and monitoring students while en route, in compliance with state mandates (as needed).
- operate, care for, and clean areas and equipment used in the transportation of students.
- administer CPR if necessary.
You will need the following minimum qualifications to be considered:
- At least two (2) years experience working in an administrative/clerical/school environment
- Ability to participate, complete, & implement PRO-ACT and/or CPI training
- Ability to read and interpret the online maps, including other documents such as safety rules, bus operating procedures, and manuals
- Excellent computer skills with understanding of Outlook as well as time and attendance software programs and other modern office equipment
- Must be able to pass a medical physical
Environment & Physical Qualifications: Assigned work environments vary from site to site. The work environment is usually comprised of several adults and children in a classroom, clinic, or campus facility with supervisors traveling to multiple sites/clinics. Due to varied work environments, an employee may encounter noise levels that are moderate to loud. In addition, the job functions could include the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling.
